This week was great in western New York! A great way to start the year! I hope you all found joy in the new year and had a great holiday!
Monday was Pday and we went to Niagara Falls with half the zone! It was a lot of fun! And there is a guy in a ward in our zone who works for border patrol. He met up with us and took us out in to rainbow bridge! I got to step foot into Canada! Haha it was pretty cool. We had dinner with bishop and we made a connection with family!
He knows the robertsons! He knows Bruce and Deana, he knows Bruce's older brother Scott? Mom you'll have to change that. I can't spell there last name they live in bone. Haha
Tuesday we saw a lot of less actives and worked on a list that we have of less actives. We were only able to get in contact with a couple of the, sadly. We also got to see mike and rebecca! Mike wasn't feeling good so we got to give him a priesthood blessing! It was pretty cool. Then we showed them the promised blessings talk by Thomas
S. Monson from this past conference, they loved it! And I got to hold there snake!! It was sketchy! Haha
Wednesday we gave Rebecca a blessing in the morning to help her quit smoking! And it worked! She said she can't smoke or she gets sick now! She told us that on Sunday! After we gave her that blessing we had interviews with president Evans. The night before interviews I was reading my Patriarchal blessing and had some questions with some things concerning my mission so I brought it with me and read some of it with him, I'm so glad I did! I have such a greater understanding now! Then we had exchanges and I went down to Lockport with eEder
Marks! We went and did service at an animal shelter and we fed a bunch of horses apples and petted some goats and things for a couple hours. It was pretty fun! Then we went street contacting! I handed out 6 copies of the Book of Mormon and invited 2 people to baptized on the street. It was a really cool experience. Never thought I would be asking people if they want to baptized right after I meet them. It's so awesome.
Thursday's are pretty relax.. we have district meeting that takes up all afternoon and then ward correlation that takes up the rest of the night after dinner.
Friday we got to go to the sites with mike and Rebecca! It was so fun! Quinn Biesinger and his family of 10 came with us! It was such a fun trip. It was very cold as well. Cool experience that happens while we were in the grove was we had mike say a prayer, and he did. After he said amen he said I'm hot... I'm not cold. I feel him. He's
here. And then we asked him some of the baptismal interview questions and we asked if he believed Jesus Christ and god the father appeared in this grove. He looked around and said "now I do." Haha mike is so awesome. The spirit was so strong in the grove. As soon as you walked in the cold went away and it was warm. It was crazy. Just shows how sacred that place is. Then we did studies and weekly planning when we got home.
Saturday we did some street contact but had no luck. Haha the cold weather brings out the worst of the people here. We finished up weekly planning and found some investigators in our area book who had an email. So we put them all in a big group email and sent an email to all of them asking if they are still interested in our church. No
replies yet. Haha we got to teach Debbie klatt the restoration. And when I finished reciting Joseph smiths account I paused and she said "I just got the chills!" It's so cool to see the spirit work on the people that live in this humble village. She also excepted baptism! We had dinner with Jessica and Stuart Durant. They are my favorite. They're so cool! Haha they told me that there going to buy a van to get more people to church. SAINTS. So awesome.
Sunday was probably the most spirit filled Sunday's I've had on my mission. It was fast Sunday, so it most likely being my last time baring my testimony in the Lockport ward I went up. Then I sat down and Rebecca, the lady we have been teaching stands up and bares hers! Then she sits down and mike stands up and bares his testimony! It was so awesome! The spirit throughout that whole meeting was amazing. Then we had the Medina meeting! And it's a fast and testimony meeting and mike stood up there and bore his testimony again! It's so cool. Mike also had his baptismal interview today! He passed! Now it's just the waiting game. Kinda stinks but he's okay with it! All that matters.
Well I know this church is true. Every time I go to the sacred sites the spirit testifies to me that this is the only true church in this earth, and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of god. I know that god the father and Jesus Christ appeared to him in that grove of trees. If it's negative something outside and you feel warm... I don't know what else could convince you. The power of the sacred sights are life changing and I'm so grateful for the opportunity I have to serve right next to them so I can take people to were this church was brought back. It's such a privilege. I love being a representative of Jesus Christ. I don't want it to end. I love all of you and miss ya tons! Have a great week!
Love,
Elder Judy
