February 6, 2017 - Victor, NY

Hello! I can't believe how fast time is going! Except this week... it was a long one. Full of rejection and doors slammed in our faces! So awesome.

Monday was just like any other Pday, played basketball at the Palmyra stake center. It's kinda cool! We drove past the sacred grove every time we go there. And it's only 15 minutes away! So blessed. I have finally come to realize that I am a true guardian if the grove. I am bearing testimony of what happened literally were I am at. It's so
awesome. After our P-day ended we went to go see a couple less actives and tried to get in contact with them but no luck!

Tuesday we had zone conference and car inspections! Zone conference was amazing. President Evans gave an amazing training on how we can better ourselves through the Atonement. And the APs gave a training in how we can better use our technology and how to use it effectively. So now we can FaceTime our investigators and teach them that way and send emails and iMessages to them to keep daily contact. Pretty cool! Using technology for its real purpose! Haha the APs wanted us to call someone right there and ask if we could set up a FaceTime lesson, so we called the Schmul family. They are a part member family and we had there three kids in date for baptism. And I just got into the area 3 weeks ago and I still hadn't met the kids so I thought it would be a perfect way to meet the family. Well long story short we ended the phone call with 3 less investigators than what we started with. So we had 4 people on date now we have 1 and 1 progressing. So we are literally starting over halfway through the transfer. So awesome. And for car inspections the person with the cleanest car in the zone gets the golden plates. Well guess who got those? This guy! Haha detailing all those trucks is coming in handy!

Wednesday we did service at saints place! And the Pittsford Elders came with us! Elder Broadhead and I went out in the truck to go make a couple drop offs in the city of Rochester. I love going out in the truck and going into the big city and seeing all the crazy people. It's so much fun! I hope to be able to serve in the city before the end of my mission. That would be so awesome. We had a lesson with Thibisa, she is a recent convert and so awesome! And we shared a spiritual thought at the beginning of young men's basketball.

Thursday was the day that I realized that this area will be the death of my knee. Haha ever since we have had investigators drop us we've had to up our tracting hours to almost 3 hours a Day! Doing a lot of walking and the driveways here are steep! It's fun! Bit today we had an experience of a man who told us Jesus Christ was a pain in his butt. And that god isn't real and that when we pray all we are doing is wishing. All I did was laugh. Cause I know for a fact that what I'm doing is the right thing. This gospel could change that mans life, if he allowed it to. That's why I hate people agency, sometimes I just want them to accept it. Haha!

Friday was weekly planning and we spent a little time cleaning our second apartment cause we don't spend to much time there and it use to be a sisters apartment so there is hair everywhere. Nasty! We had a 2 o'clock appointment that fell through so we spent an hour or to trying to go find someone to go teach but no one would answer our phone calls! Not even the members! It was so annoying! We finally had 2 members answer and we went and taught them the restoration and asked for refferals. But had no luck and didn't get any. Brother ornt had us over for pizza and he was building a pen AR-15 while we sat there an age and chatted it was pretty cool. Haha Jeff is so funny. He's the most active less active you'll meet.

Saturday we did service at the victor library for a couple hours and it was awesome! A lot of people asked me were books were and I had no idea. Haha so I told them it's was my first day here. And I got to talk about who I was with a couple people so that was awesome!  Then we taught Joan Downey the gospel of Jesus Christ! She's awesome but crazy busy. She would be jumping into the faint if it wasn't for her son. Her son is holding her  back a lot. Then we tract for about 3 hours and only got 1 return appointment and I think the people where just being nice. But we will go back! Haha it's been rough. The Sutton family had is over for dinner! Their super cool! We did service for a less active in the ward then went and taught another member family the restoration!

Sunday was awesome. Sacrament meeting was a great fast and testimony meeting.  We had a lunch appointment with our ward mission leader, brother Milne and his family! There from South Africa! Super cool people! And then we did studies and had a dinner appointment with the Whitcom family, there sweet. Haha the mom is an extreme couponer and has a room chuck full of anything and everything so she let us dig through it and take stuff so that was cool. Then we did a mini exchange because an elder in our district was sick but they had a couple lessons so elder Griener stayed in and I went out and taught a couple lessons with elder Peterson.

Well everybody that is my week! Not to exciting. Not a whole lot going in here. But I know through faith and making this area mine p, having a goal and obtaining it, the work will start to progress. I've already been able to see that. Through faithful fasting and praying. Saturday I fasted for the work in my area and Saturday night we got a refferal from church headquarters and then Sunday we got another refferal from church headquarters. Small and simple ways is how our lord and savior works. I love him. I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to serve him with all my might, mind, and strength. And being exactly obedient so the windows of heaven will be opened and blessing will pour upon us. This gospel is so amazing. And it's so true. I love and miss you all and I hope you have an amazing week!

Love,
Elder Judy
